Miyah
A Dream Come True
Miyah is an eight- year- old from Wood River, with a huge personality that keeps everyone around her grinning. She has always dreamed of going to Walt Disney World and with the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, her wish finally came true. She flew to Orlando, Florida on her first airplane ride ever.
Miyah and her family stayed at the Give Kids the World Village for six nights and spent their time exploring the parks, swimming, and shopping. In the Magic Kingdom, she visited the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a princess makeover.
During her stay in Florida, she was able to take photographs with all of her favorite characters. A little apprehensive at first, she walked away thinking that that was her favorite part of her time there. "She was shocked to see the characters go from TV to real life," her mom said.
What made the trip even more accommodating and fun was how the cast members at all of the different parks were incredibly kind to her. "They knew exactly how to take care of Miyah," her mom said. "You would never know that she's special needs, which is something you don't see often." Although she sometimes wears out easily, Miyah had no problem keeping up as she spent all day at the park. Upon returning home, she immediately wished she could go back. The experience was truly an incredible one, exactly as Miyah always dreamed it would be.
Wish Families consistently rate their experience with the Foundation as highly positive, with a 99% quality rating from Wish Families.
